BasiGo is an EV distribution and financing platform accelerating the adoption of e-buses for intracity and intercity public transport in Kenya and Rwanda through the sale and/or lease of e-buses and provision of ancillary services (charging/ maintenance/fleet management) to private operators of buses in Nairobi and Kigali.
Impact

- Providing a safer, quieter and more dignified transport experience for commuters, including persons with disabilities.
- E-buses generate up to 30-70% higher net income for public transport operators due to higher uptime, e-bus popularity with passengers, lower energy and maintenance costs
- BasiGo is the first company to introduce local assembly in the region, creating job opportunities and facilitating knowledge transfer
Energy:
- Reducing the carbon emission by 70-90% by replacing diesel buses by low emissions e-buses
- BasiGo is increasing utilization of off-peak power capacity by charging mostly during off-peak hours
