COVID-19: A message from Africa50 CEO Alain Ebobissé
Dear Africa50 Partners and Shareholders,
The COVID-19 pandemic has become one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity over the last few months, disrupting lives and corporate activities in a myriad of ways. It has forced countries and organizations across the world to take unprecedented measures to safeguard their people, communities and economies, with prospects of more still to come.
While the threat is global in nature, Africa has reported among the fewest numbers of cases to date. However, the continent remains vulnerable, as the virus has already claimed several lives and the situation changes quickly and exponentially, affecting countries at different levels.
During this period of vigilance, Africa50 is making every effort to remain operational. While travel is no longer possible, all our staff members are working remotely to ensure business continuity and our capability to respond to your enquiries diligently. Meetings are being held digitally via audio and videoconferences, supported by our strong IT infrastructure.
While we continue to monitor this evolving situation closely, we are rigorously following the guidelines from the World Health Organization and the authorities in markets where we operate.
While this new environment is challenging, I would like to reassure you that as an organization, we are resilient. We can, we are, and we must continue to develop our pipeline projects and evaluate new ones, as we prepare to support the continent’s recovery. This crisis underlines once again the urgency of improving our continent’s infrastructure so that our people can lead productive, happy, and healthy lives.
We stand in complete solidarity with all African nations and all our stakeholders around the world during these uncertain times. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
I take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thoughts and thank you for your continued loyalty.
