Assaad Jabre

Assaad Jabre is an experienced corporate advisor. He currently serves on the Board of the Mobile for Development Foundation and on the Strategic Committee of Agence France Trésor. From 1980 to 2005, he worked at IFC,rising to the rank of Vice President of Operations in 2000, in which capacity he oversaw new investments worldwide. He served as acting CEO in 2005. 

Mr. Jabre started his career at IFC as an investment officer, working on projects in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. From 1989-1992, he was Special Assistant to IFC’s Executive Vice President. Subsequently he became a Manager for telecommunications and was promoted to Director of the infrastructure department in 1996. In 1997 he became Vice President of Portfolio Management and Advisory Operations, where he managed IFC’s loan and equity portfolio. Prior to IFC he worked for four years at Paribas. 

Mr. Jabre holds a degree in economics and finance from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), a degree in international law from the University of Paris, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
