Africa50 CEO Calls for More Private Sector Investment, and Promotes Asset Recycling

On the margins of the UN General Assembly, CEO Alain Ebobissé shared his views on the role of infrastructure in promoting the economic recovery of Africa post Covid19 during a Corporate Council for Africa event entitled Partnering for Economic Recovery in Senegal. Panelists included H.E. Amadou Hott, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Republic of Senegal, Sean Cairncross, CEO, Millennium Challenge Corporation, Sir James Dutton, Regional President, Africa, Bechtel Corporation and Kerry Moreland, Vice President - Sub-Saharan Africa - Exploration and New Ventures, ExxonMobil.

Background

During the 75th Session of the UNGA, the CCA convened country focused sessions with African Heads of State, senior US and African government officials and private sector executives. They discussed economic recovery strategies and highlighted opportunities for investment and business partnerships between the US and target countries, as well as the initiatives of various USG agencies.
