Procurement launched for Independent Engineer for Kenya transmission project

Mwanga Transmission Company Limited, the project company established by Africa50 and POWERGRID to implement the Kenya transmission PPP project, has launched an international competitive selection process to appoint an Independent Engineer.
The project comprises the Lessos–Loosuk and Kisumu–Kakamega–Musaga transmission lines and associated substations, in partnership with the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO).
The consultancy will run for a minimum of 48 months. Procurement opened on 6 October 2026, with the clarification period running until 13 October and submissions due on 29 October 2026. Interested firms can visit the project procurement website for further details
