Kwaku Osei

Kwaku Osei is an experienced energy and infrastructure lawyer currently working as Legal Counsel – Transactions at Africa50. 

Prior to Africa50, Kwaku was a Managing Associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team of Linklaters LLP, a member of the ‘Magic Circle’ of City of London law firms. In that role, he advised sponsors, investors and lenders on market leading energy and infrastructure transactions in Europe and Africa, with a particular expertise in large scale renewable power projects. His previous experience also includes a secondment at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager where he assisted with the deployment of a $4.8 billion infrastructure fund. He has written on Ghana’s power sector for The New York Times and was named the ‘Professional Services Rising Star’ at the 2018 Black British Business Awards.

He is also an active angel investor, serving as a partner and legal counsel for Cornerstone Partners, a UK based angel investor network which invests in businesses owned by black and diverse founders.

He has a BA in Political Science and French from Yale University, an M. Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge (Clare College) and is a qualified solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
