Africa50 CEO meets with President of Togo, Announces Support for Projects in Power, Transport and ICT sectors

Speaking during a meeting on 25 March with H.E. Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, on the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Africa50 CEO, Alain Ebobissé said that his institution planned to deploy its wide array of project development and finance services to support the economic development of the country, by supporting its key priority projects.

He thanked Togo for its continued support to Africa50 and reiterated his institution’s commitment to invest in the country’s key sectors. Mr. Ebobissé expressed Africa50’s interest in funding the expansion of Togo’s main national highway, the extension of a power plant as well as projects in the logistics sector.

Earlier, President Gnassingbé commended Africa50 for its capacity to bring several projects to fruition after only a few years of operation and pledged Togo’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the institution. He noted that Africa50’s agility and private sector focus were key in helping African governments to fast-track the implementation of their infrastructure projects. 

Togo is a founding shareholder country of Africa50 and the Togolese National Assembly recently validated the ratification of the organization’s Articles of Association.

Joining the President at the meeting were several Togolese officials, including Sani Yaya, Minister of Finance, Zouréhatou Kassah-Traore, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Koutéra Noël Bataka, Minister of Agriculture and Cina Lawson, Minister of Innovation and Digital Economy.
